of the steering column. Pull the knob to release the hood lock. Lift the hood slightly, reach under the hood at the center and
push the safety catch to disengage it. Then lift the hood and insert the prop rod in the hole on the underside of the hood front
cross bar. Hawk – The release lever is at the center under the front bumper. To open hood, move lever as far to the left as it
will go. This releases the hood lock and safety latch. Raise the hood and insert the prop rod in the hole on the underside of
    the hood front cross bar.
BATTERY: Location - Under hood on left side. Size - 12 volts, 50 ampere hour, 54 plate. Negative termingl grounded.
DRAINING COOLING SYSTEM: Remove one defroster hose at firewall under hood. Renove both hoses from heater core under

rear. All models - Remove radiator filler cap and open radiator drain cock on right side, reached from below.
PRESSURE COOLING: Valve in cap set to open at 12 to 15 pounds pressure. The cap must always be turned down tightly to
maintain the correct pressure. Before removing radiator cap turn it counterclockwise until slight stop is reached to allow any
pressure in the system to escape through the overflow before the cap is removed.
GAS TANK FILLER: Cap in left rear fender, covered.
The information contained in these Flashes is based on latest advice received direct from the factories.
As in previous years, changes in design may be made in the manufacturer's later production.
