Circa 1840-1870
Clearly marked with raised embossed lettering around the bottle vertically. Hand blown torpedo bottle with blob 9 1/8" long and 3-1/4" across. Good condition with no breaks but a small crack around the mouth of bottle.  Sand sediment from ocean is imbedded with the glass as this is a shipwreck bottle according to the history I was able to find on the bottle. . Torpedo bottles were molded into this shape, so that it had to be laid on it's side keeping to the cork closure wet. This kept the beverage sealed to keep it's carbonation. In the mid-1800's a holder was designed to keep the bottles upright, so that beverage could be displayed on the dinner table and readily available for guests.  Truly a cool selection for any bottle collector.
I take extreme care when packaging so to ensure safe delivery.
The final package will weight approximately 2.25 lbs. and be placed in a well padded box.
