Description
This antique original Japanese Edo Period print was made by Kikugawa (Kikukawa) Eizan (1787-1867), and his signature is at the lower right edge. The artist used real people and named the subjects, in this case, Yashio of Maruume Chaya. A shamisen (instrument) is being played, and a snack is cooking on a hibachi. The print is not framed.The print measures 14 ¾” long by 10 ¼” wide. (37.5 cm long by 26 cm wide)
CONDITION: Some foxing, discolorations from age as pictured, but there are no holes or tears. I have tried to capture the condition as honestly as possible in the 4 images, so please be sure to see them all. Zoom in for the best views.
