    Description

    Antique Woodblock print image of Japanese fishing vessels returning to port. It is marked with number 366, Made in Japan, with no watermark. It is mounted on upper corners only on old paper. The print measures approx 5 1/2" by 8 1/4". The backing paper is 8 1/4" by 11 1/2", which has a slight bend at lower right corner as shown.  It is printed on hand laid paper, presumably mulberry paper. It appears to be from the early 1900s.
    Shoda Koho
    (庄田耕峯, ca. 1871-1946) was a Japanese artist associated with the shin-hanga (“New Prints”) art movement in Japan during the early 20th century.
