    This hard cover book is one of a series relating to The Epic of Flight issued by Time Life Books.  This particular book is well written and interesting covering the farsighted men who insisted that an air force could undertake independent offensive action in war.  These men were British Chief of staff Hugh Trenchard, William "Billy" Mitchell of the US Army Air Service and Italian Army colonel Giulio Douhet. Air Power was based on the ability to attack industrial and transportation centers far behind the enemy's frontline. There are 176 gloss pages with photographs and plane drawings.  The book's size is approximate height 11 1/4 x width 9 1/2 x thickness 3/4 inches.
