Here's one of the first Barq's root beer bottles from Biloxi, Miss.....a nice blob Hutchinson stopper bottle from the late 1890s or early 1900 period....

bold emb in circle slug plate on front...Hand blown in mold...hand tooled blob Hutch collar with Hutchinson stopper in neck....aqua...7"tall...Good condition with only one small shallow chip on top inside edge of blob; a faint bubble ping & some normal surface wear/fine scratches. Some faint haze. Nice bold embossing. Edward Barq Sr bought the Biloxi Artesian Bottling Works in 1897 and invented his famous Root Beer the next year in 1898. It was an overnight sensation. This Hutch bottle was one of the first that Barq used to bottle his root beer in Biloxi
