Cantrell & Cochrane Dublin Belfast ballast torpedo aerated mineral water bottle

Description

For offer: a Cantrell & Cochrane aerated mineral water bottle from Dublin & Belfast, Ireland.  This is know as a torpedo / ballast-type bottle.  It was blown in aqua glass batch and finished with an applied taper lip in the early 1870's era.  This was recovered in a Philadelphia privy excavation in the last year.  It is in good condition with no damage.  Moderate use wear with polychromatic ground patina.  Embossed around the rounded base: " See that each cork is branded " / " Cantrell & Cochran ".  " Dublin & Belfast " on the base.  A super chunky stout and solid bottle.  It measures: 9 3/8" x 2 1/4".
