    Description

Image Intensifier Systmn 25mm Gen 2 with Canon FD Mount (Lens shown is NOT included):
This unit has a custom Varo 25mm Gen 2 Micro-Channel Plate Inverter tube, plano fiber optics inputs and outputs.  The cathode has been specially processed for enhanced blue sensitivity, and the output uses a custom white phosphor developed to have fast response throughout the blue-red spectrum. These special features were developed for a sequential RGB (red-green-blue) color application.
Power Input required:  2.5V (Lemo connector and cable with flying leads provided.)
    On/off switch and gain potentiometer
Both input and output ends have a Canon FD lens mount, and have adjustable back focus (with locking set screws). The two end caps with their lens mounts are interchangeable.
The output Monocular is a high-quality, wide field unit that mounts to the Canon mount, with adjustable focus and locking ring.
The Monocular is used for direct viewing, or could also be used to couple to a camera. Alternatively a camera lens could replace the Monocular for coupling.
There is also a Nikon lens mount provided that fixes over one of the Canon mounts.
This means that the unit could be used (with additional lenses) in any of the following combinations:
    (a)
Canon FD Input Lens and Monocular Output
    (b)
Canon FD Input and Canon Output Lens
    (c)
Nikon Input Lens and Monocular Output
    (d)
Canon Input Lens and Nikon Output Lens
    (e)
Nikon Input Lens and Canon Output Lens
Note:  The output image is upright when viewed through the Monocular.
    Input Cathode Sensitivity:  400-700 nm
Output Phosphor Range;  450 -650 nm (white)
Phosphor Time Decay (to 10% level): Less than 2 msec
    Tube Gain:
    approx.. 50,000, with AGC protection.
    Resolution:  32 lp/mm
Note that the output phosphor has one small black spot, as shown in the last picture.
There are two ¼-20 Mounting holes on the bottom of the unit.
    Intensifier instructions provided.
