    Description

    For offer: a hand-blown crown closure John Friedrich beer bottle from Philadelphia, PA.  Embossed with a lovely " J F " monogram inside a circle on the shoulder.  Embossed around the heel: "John Friedrich / 5th & Rising Sun Ave., Philada."  This is in the Olney section of North Philadelphia.  Below that:  "C. G. Co. 785".  -Likely the Canton Glass Compay of Canton, Ohio, (mold code 785).  This was excavated in a NW Philadelphia household dump sometime in the last 10 years.  It is in very good condition with no damage at all.  Some small to medium bubbles scattered throughout the glass.  It was blown in aqua glass batch into a two-part private mold and finished with a hand-tooled Painter's Crwon Closure in the late 1890's.  It measures: 9 1/2" x 2 5/8".
