John Lafferty Frankford Phila PA blob Champagne beer bottle 1880s

Description

For offer: a John Lafferty blob / Champagne beer bottle from Philadelphia, PA. It was blown in aqua glass batch into a two-part slug-plate mold and finished with a hand-tooled blob lip in the 1880's era. This was recovered in a Philadelphia privy excavation in the last year. It is in good condition with no damage at all. It shows light use wear and some ground patina. Embossed inside the slug-plate field with the address: " 2043 Frankford Ave. " Mold code: " 2A " -embossed on the base. It measures: 9 3/16" x 2 11/16".
