I believe these pieces would be used for continuous filtration where liquid can be drained off from the bottom so you don't need to keep stopping to pour out when filtering large volumes of liquid.
Nice condition set, everything is clean. Glass filter head with two rubber stoppers on it has a crack running lengthwise down the stem but appears to still be fully functional. The top (black) rubber stopper on that filter is pretty hard, which is why I suspect someone put another stopper on the bottom. This listing includes everything shown in the pictures including the one glass stopper/cap with a hole in it to allow flow through the top port.
