Large size historical bicentennial Revolutionary War American Patriot, John Hancock, (1737 - 1793) - decanter produced by McCormick in 1976. John Hancock as President of the Congress, was the first to sign the Declaration of Independence addressed to King George the Third of England. Hancock signed with great flourish, making his signature very large. Tradition says that as he signed, he commented, "Let King George read my name without his spectacles, and let him double the price he has on my head".   WHY we now say, "Sign your John Hancock here." Original box with Styrofoam inserts. Side of box has a good biography of Hancock. 10 inches tall. Empty. Excellent condition.  We combine shipping.  Please see our other listings.
