The Mercer Bottling Company was incorporated Jan 17, 1901 at 345 West Hanover Street. B.P. Reeder originally had his business at this location in the late 1880s and early 1890s. Reeder merged with John Schroth in 1892 and after his death in 1893 Schroth continued doing business at the location under his own name. In 1901 John Schorth, Charles Johnson and Charles Rehrig consolidated their companies to form the Mercer Bottling Company. In 1902 the company relocated to 147 North Broad Street after Schroth began doing business as the Eagle Bottling Works at the Hanover Street address. In 1903 Mercer Bottling was located at 51 and 53 Bellvue Ave, the location previously used by John Grimes and James Howard. After the death of John Schroth in 1905 the company moved to Lamberton and Lalor Streets where it stayed through the 1930s.
