NASHVILLE ILLINOIS, Unlisted, Blob Soda JOHN LORENZ, Washington County

Here is a Rare and I believe unlisted, Shortneck Style Blob Top soda bottle from this smaller Washington County Illinois town, located in SW Illinois. I have sold the Slugplate Style Hutchinson from this bottler, but this is only the second one of these I have known of. It is a Short Necked style Blob with sloped shoulders. it is embossed with Crude letters that read, "JOHN LORENZ NASHVILLE, ILLS." The base has a Large letter, 'L' and the rear heel has the glass makers initials of "L.G.CO." for the Lindell Glass Co. of St. Louis Missouri, This appears to be a mid to late 1870's era bottle which would have had a Bail and Cork. The bottle does have some damage but displays very well and would look fine with a light tumble. There is a Flat Slice off the base, rather thin and a Thumbnail size chip off the right, bottom side as shown, and a Very Faint light bruise on the inner lip. Tough to find in any condition as this is only the second I know to exist. . Nashville is a smaller town, located close to Ashley, Centralia, Warmac, etc.  If you collect Illinois soda bottles or nashville, IL memorabilia, you will appreciate this one.
