    Description

Genuine 19th century woodblock print by the grand master of ukiyo-e, Katsushika Hokusai!
This print comes from Hokusai's 1804 Tokaido series.  This station is Mitsuke.  The image shows a traveler and companion eating the local specialty, long noodles.  I think they are sitting back to back as they're embarrassed by their difficulty managing the unusually long noodles.  The shop sign also appears in the image.
This print series was originally released as a surimono, with poetry.  The block were then reused, without poems, for the commercial edition.  Still, the print retains the feel of a Hokusai surimono.
The print is signed "Gakyojin Hokusai" (Hokusai, the Picture-Crazed Man.)
The size is 7 by 5 inches.  The print is just as it appears in the photos.
