    *Up for sale here is the very rare clear version of the early J.C. Buffum & Co. hutch from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bottle would date from about 1880 to 1884. This example is in good shape, and has some case wear, and a minor base chip as well. See all pictures, as they tell the best story. Bottle displays well as it is, and the old clear glass is clean.
    *It is embossed on the front open face, as it reads ~ "J.C. BUFFUM & Co. / (weights and scale in a keystone motif) / Trade Mark / Registered / CITY BOTTLING / HOUSE / PITTSBURGH Pa." On the base it has the bold "JCB" monogram. Then on the back side it is thinly embossed ~ "This Bottle / Must Be Returned".
    This short example measures 6 1/4 inches tall, and 2 3/8 inches in diameter. This very early version also comes in amber and cobalt blue. You will be well pleased with this vintage piece of soda pop bottling history, from southwestern Pennsylvania.
