Description
For offer: a clear Hutchinson soda bottle from Philadelphia, PA. Inside the circular slugplate field is embossed the proprietor's name: S. Singer / Philad'a. " Registered " -across the front shoulder. This bottle was blown in clear glass batch into a two part slugplate mold and finished with a tooled lip in the later 1880's era. This was recovered in a Philadelphia privy excavation in the last year. It is in very good dug condition with no damage at all. Very light use wear with some mild interior haze from having been buried in the ground. Some nice inconsistencies and artifact in the hand-tooled lip area, as well as some trapped potstones. A really nice solid and clean Phila Hutch soda on the less common end, as far as the bottler goes. It measures: 7 3/8"- x 2 1/4".
