    Description

    This is an original Shiro Kasamatsu (1898-1991) Landscape Sosaku Hanga print in the Oban size (10" x15"). It is signed and dated on the bottom of the print which was folded under for framing but shown in photos. The color is beautiful in this forest landscape with sharp oranges and greens.
    Shiro was born in Tokyo and apprenticed to Kaburagi Kiyokata. He made woodblock prints for a publisher until the late 1940s. He continued to make prints and publishing and is well known for shin-hanga and sosaku -hanga works.
    The entire image including the frame measures 20" high x 15"wide.
