Description
Here is an Original Antique American Mold-Blown “Squat-Style” Soda or Ale-Bottle from 1860’s Eastern Pennsylvania. Featuring a Crudely "Applied" Blob-Top, The Bottle is Horizontally Embossed on the Front-Side w/ "EAGLE WORKS / YORK PA.". The Embossing is Large and Crude as is With the "Pontil-Era" Squat Sodas a Few Years Earlier in the 1840-50's.There are Nice Paper-Thin Oblong Air-Bubbles on the Surface of the Glass, that Give the Bottle a Unique and "Controlled-Bubble" Type Appearance which Really Adds to this Example.
The Base is "Smooth" but Very Uneven and is Especially Thick, and Nice Looking with Especially Deep Blue-Aqua Colored Glass.
CONDITION: The Bottle is in Sound, Original, Condition w/ Just One Mention of a Thin, (Completely In-Manufacture) "Crazing-Line" that is Seen, Upon Close-Inspection in the Blob-Lip, which is Pictured in Photos 8 + 9 of the Photo-Gallery. Otherwise, NO ISSUES. NO CRACKS, NO CHIPS, NO "POT-STONE RADIATIONS", NO OPEN-BUBBLES, NO DISTRACTING SCUFFS OR ABRASIONS, NO FLEA-BITES, NO STRIKES, OR IMPACT DINGS. Some Light / Faint Sporadic, Areas of Internal Cloudiness that are Minimally Detracting to the Appearance of this Super Nice Example of a Scarce Earlier, Eastern Pennsylvania Ale or Blob-Soda Bottle.
