Two Crown Staffordshire England Novelty Golf Plates Dishes 7"x 6" Fun Nice!
Up for auction are two 7" by 6" Crown Staffordshire novelty golf dishes showing three golfers who must have won a prize.  These dishes are not round and are slightly raised around the edges to about 1 1/4" at the rims on two sides.  They remind me of either bone dishes or vegetable dishes.  They are each marked with the following: "Queensberry Tableware, Fine Bone China, Made by Crown Staffordshire China England" and has a hand painted number that says 16228, I believe and they each have an additional stray letter.  These are both in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, but one has very light overall crazing and the other just has some very superficial small scratches on the surface--hardly noticeable. This same plate with the light scratches has a very subtle darkened area on the back--really does not detract.
