    Description

You're bidding on an antique Ukiyo-e period Japanese woodblock print - Signed at bottom-right corner by master artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi. From a series of the Ogura Imitations of 100 Poems by 100 Poets. One resource in my research indicates this print represents Poem #5, by Sarumaru Day:
    Autumn at its saddest—
    Rustling through the leaves
    and moving on alone
    deep into the mountains,
I hear a lonely stag belling for his doe.
Print has condition issues - soil / age toning / foxing, and some mothing. Top corners are trimmed and and the piece is lightly, but too firmly matted to the back side of an old print for me to risk removing, as the early paper is quite thin. SOLD AS IS AS FOUND. Print dimensions are 9 3/4" X 14 1/4".
Early, circa 1840s piece, though, and still retains nice color and appeal. Please review photos carefully to make your now determination of overall condition and appeal, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding - thanks for looking!
