    Description

    Mid to early 20th Cent pair of equestrian riding slides by bespoke boot & tack maker Henry Maxwell when he was at his Dover Street location (pre 1952).
    I believe they are stainless steel. Signed on backs of each one: MAXWELL
    DOVER ST,
    MADE IN ENGLAND.
    Henry Maxwell was awarded the first of its many Royal Warrants by King George IV., and by the early 20th century Maxwell had grown to supply boots, shoes and a wide range of riding and hunting accessories from shops in London and Paris.
    Condition is vintage used and pitted on the backs of both slides. (This could probably be professionally polished off).
